Mallard Lake

Mallard Lake, at the southern end of Big Lake Wildlife Management Area, holds the state record for largemouth bass.  The 300-acre lake, maintained by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, was created in 1967 by the placement of a series of levees in the marshy lowlands of the 12,000-acre preserve.  The management area is adjacent to the federal refuge and provides many outdoor opportunities.  Boat launch is available and accommodations may be found at Manila or 15 miles away in Blytheville.    Excellent bass fishing.
