Birthplace of the founder and publisher of Ebony and Jet magazines. House has been relocated to the historic courhouse square in downtown Arkansas City. Future plans include the creation of an educational learning center, which will be located near the house museum, for the purpose of offering student/community enrichment activities in the areas of journalism, entrepreneurship, family and nutrition, education and the arts. Owned by the University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. A stop on the African American Heritage Trail.
