Forrest City Public Library

The Arkansas Room in the Forrest City Public Library is a great place for genealogical research.  The long-time librarian has put together a fantastic collection of Arkansas materials, especially focusing on St. Francis County and Forrest City.  The collections include two small typed booklets on various cemeteries in the county, listing the burials.  Compiled by Kathleen Bell in 1981, they include burials from about 30 cemeteries. She also compiled the "Stevens Funeral Home Records, July 19, 1897 to October 31, 1913."  An Eagle Scout project in 2004-05 by Kyle Gaines includes the named burials in the Old Forrest City Cemetery.   These are resources are among the many materials in the Arkansas Room.
