Battery B Site, Battle of Helena

One of four earthen batteries erected by the Union army in 1862, its gunners helped repulse the Confederate attacks on Battery A and C during the July 4, 1863, Battle of Helena. A Historic Marker for Battery B is on Walker Street east of South Summit, on the left when traveling east. What remains of the battery, which is on private property, is visible from Liberty Street.
