Paula Miles, executive secretary-treasurer for Arkansas Delta Byways, retired in January 2024 after 23 years of service to the organization. She previously retired in 2020 as assistant director of Arkansas State University Heritage Sites, serving for 33 years at the university.
During Paula’s years with Arkansas Delta Byways, she has assisted with major initiatives, such as gaining National Scenic Byway status for Crowley’s Ridge Parkway and the Arkansas segment of the Great River Road, organizing bike rides throughout the region, and handling details for organization’s post-Covid Innovation Awards. Through her role at the university, Paula also has been instrumental in bringing new heritage tourism attractions to the region.
Paula’s commitment has been evident in the numerous awards she has received, including induction last year into the Arkansas Tourism Hall of Fame. She also is the recipient of a Henry Award for Tourism Special Achievement and has received Special Recognition and Outstanding Member awards through Arkansas Delta Byways. This region is proud to now present this Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her years of service and passion for tourism in the Arkansas Delta.
