A long-time member of the Arkansas Delta Byways Board, Adam also serves as advisor for Crowley’s Ridge Parkway National Scenic Byway and works closely with the Arkansas segment of the Great River Road All-American Road. He successfully negotiated a new Memorandum of Agreement between Arkansas Delta Byways and Arkansas State University, including agreeing to step up as executive director of ADB. Adam’s diverse contributions to tourism over the past year have been remarkable. Among them, he has served on the statewide committee guiding development of the Johnny Cash sculpture to represent Arkansas permanently in the nation’s capital, and he is a member of the planning committee for the upcoming Governor’s Conference on Tourism.
His work with Arkansas State University Heritage Sites has opened new tourism opportunities in the region, including re-doing exhibits at the Rohwer Japanese American Relocation Center, securing a grant for $1.9 million to convert grain bins in Tyronza into a special events center, and providing leadership for establishing the Sunken lands Songwriting Circle and associated activities.
