World Championship Duck Gumbo Cookoff

More than 50 teams compete annually for bragging rights to the World's Best Duck Gumbo.  Each team is required to cook three quarts of gumbo and 50% of the meat used in the recipe must be duck. Teams start cooking in the morning and final judging takes place in the afternoon. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third place.  This event is held annually the weekend after Thanksgiving as part of the World's Championship Duck-Calling Contest and Wings Over the Prairie Festival.  The Duck Gumbo Cookoff is the 2022 Winner of the Food-Related Event in the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Department of Arkansas Heritage.
