In 1995, Ron Shelton opened a large catfish buffet on the west side of Jonesboro called ‘Ron’s Catfish Buffet. His son Ryan worked
at the buffet from the time he was a young boy until he graduated from college in 2011. In 2014, the father and son duo decided it was time to create a new way to serve their famous catfish and opened a restaurant with a totally different concept. Murdock’s Catfish was born. Using a quick-serve style concept complete with a drive-thru speaker system and fast counter-service, Murdock’s customers can grab a hot, fresh fish plate through a drive-thru window, or enjoy their favorite catfish and sides without trying to eat their money’s worth at the buffet Along with fried catfish, Murdock's serves items such as shrimp po’ boys, fried crawfish tails, and grilled catfish fillets. Later in 2014, the Shelton’s opened a second Murdock’s location in Paragould and a third location on Main Street in Jonesboro. Open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Red Wolf location; 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Main Street location. Also check Facebook page for specials.
